Volunteer in Costa Rica: help protect nature and meet like-minded people

Volunteering in Costa Rica is not your average vacation — it’s your chance to do something meaningful, meet amazing people, and wake up every day with purpose (and maybe a gecko on the wall). In Sámara, right on the Pacific coast, you’ll be part of a local community, surrounded by nature, and involved in projects that matter.
School Support — chalk, kids, and chaos (the good kind)
Help kids with homework, lead creative workshops, and bring English to life through fun and play. Some days you’ll be helping with math, other days you’ll be singing songs with kids who will steal your heart.
Eco & Community Projects — green fingers, sandy toes
Get your hands dirty — plant trees, clean up beaches, or teach locals about sustainability. From garden projects to community clean-ups, this is your chance to give back to nature and the neighborhood.
Sports with a smile — zero equipment, max fun
No gym? No problem. All you need is a football, a patch of sand, and some kids ready to run, jump, and laugh with you. Organize games, teach teamwork, and maybe show off your secret dodgeball skills.
Turtle Patrols — night walks, tiny flippers, big impact
By day, help clean the beach. By night, patrol nesting grounds and assist baby sea turtles on their first journey to the ocean. These endangered species need heroes — and flashlights.
Ready to join a project that’s real, raw, and rewarding?
Let’s get you to Costa Rica!

Why join this program?

Beaches are great, coconuts are cool — but after a few days of lounging, you’ll want something more. This program lets you stop being just a tourist and actually become part of local life. See Costa Rica from the inside — not from postcards.
New people. A new culture. A totally different routine. You’ll step out of your comfort zone — and actually enjoy it. This isn’t “volunteering to check a box.” It’s a real experience that sharpens your thinking, patience, and flexibility better than any Zoom course.
No offices. No emails. No soul-crushing meetings. Just you helping where it matters — whether it’s guiding baby turtles to the sea, painting a school wall, or teaching a child to say their first words in English. You don’t need to be an expert — you just need to care.
Helping others shifts something inside. It widens your perspective, grounds you, and sticks with you long after your tan fades.
Not “I took a selfie with a parrot and left.” Real stories — about the people, the challenges, the friendships, the moments that surprised you. That’s what you’ll carry home.
