What is the Stipend Internship Program?
You’ll get a paid internship (a stipend of AUD 600 to AUD 1,000 per month) in marketing, HR, and event management at Australian companies.
What level of English do I need to join the program?
To join the program, participants must have at least an Upper-Intermediate level of English. You should be able to converse freely in English on almost any topic.
Do I need to provide a certificate proving my language proficiency?
Yes, IELTS or TOEFL.
How long does the internship last and how many hours per week?
Full-time — 20–24 weeks, with a typical workload of about 30–40 hours per week.
What fields are internships available in?
Three specializations are available: marketing, human resources (HR), and event management.
How much do they pay?
Stipend: from AUD 600 to AUD 1,000 per month.
Do I need a visa?
Yes, a Training Visa 407 is arranged and sponsored by the company.
Can I still participate if I graduated from university more than 12 months ago?
Unfortunately, no. This program is only for recent graduates (who graduated no more than 12 months before the visa application date).
Will someone meet me at the airport?
Participants will be met at the airport for an additional fee.
Will I have time to travel?
Yes, there will be. Participants get 4 weeks to travel around Australia.
Can I participate for less than 5 months?
No, you can’t participate for less than 5 months.
Can I join if I don’t have a background in event planning, marketing, or HR?
No. The Stipend Internship In Australia program is only for people with a background in event management, marketing, or human resources. Our Professional Internship in Australia program would be a better fit for you.
Can I join without any work experience?
Unfortunately, no. Work experience is one of the program sponsor’s requirements. The program that doesn’t require work experience is Professional Internship in Australia.
How do I pay for the program?
After signing the contract with IEC, the registration fee of $600 AUD must be paid within 7 calendar days. Once the internship placement is confirmed, the participant makes the second payment for the program.
When should I apply for the program?
The Stipend Internship in Australia program runs year-round, but you’ll need to submit your documents 3-4 months before your desired start date.
Do I need to have an interview with the employer?
Your sponsor will match you with an internship placement that requires a Skype interview.
Is there a list of open positions?
Yes. Also, after receiving the participant’s profile, the program sponsor sends it out to potential employers.
How many hours per week is the internship?
On average, participants work 30-40 hours per week.
Where will I live while working?
Your sponsor helps find accommodation. You’ll have the option to live with a host family or in a student residence.
