To join the program, you need a B1 level of Spanish.
How can I pay for the program?
After you sign the agreement with IEC, you’ll pay the registration fee of $300 within 7 calendar days.
You’ll pay the second installment before placement with a host family — after your profile has been uploaded to the sponsor’s system.
When should I apply for the program?
Internship in Chile runs year-round; you should submit your documents at least 2 months before your preferred start date.
Do I need health insurance?
Yes. The program sponsor can help arrange insurance.

Can I choose the city where I’ll do my internship?
Your program sponsor will help you find housing.
Is there a list of open positions?
You can specify your preferences, but the program sponsor can’t guarantee placement in your chosen city.
How long does it take to find an internship placement?
After receiving the participant’s profile, the program sponsor sends it to potential employers. There is no pre-existing list of open positions.
Which companies offer internships and where are they located?
Finding an employer may take 4 to 8 weeks.
How many hours per week will the internship require?
Program internships can be hosted by private or government organizations, as well as by local or international companies across the country.
Can I participate without knowing Spanish?
Approximately 25–30 hours per week.
How long do internships last?
No. Participants must have at least an Intermediate level of Spanish.
