Au Pair in Spain
Immerse yourself in Spanish culture! Work with children, sharpen your Spanish, and travel around Spain. It’s a great opportunity for intercultural exchange and to experience local traditions.
How do I apply?
To enroll in the program, just call us or fill out the form — choose “Schedule a consultation” or “Enrollment.” After that, your program coordinator will walk you through every step of the enrollment process.
What documents do I need to register?
Completed application form;
References confirming experience working with children (at least two);
Character reference (at least one) — may be provided by former teachers or employers;
Letter to the host family in English or Spanish (Host family letter);
Medical report;
Copy of your secondary or higher education diploma with a translation into German;
Language certificate confirming your language level (if available);
Copy of your driver’s license (recommended, but optional);
Copy of your passport;
Police clearance certificate.
What visa do I need?
Au Pair Spain participants receive a short-term Schengen visa for stays of up to 3 months, or a national long-stay visa for stays longer than 3 months.
What documents do I need to apply for a visa?
You’ll need a separate set of documents for the visa; an IEC representative will provide the list.
Do I need to have an interview with a consular officer?
Yes, program participants have an interview at the embassy to get their visa.
What kind of passport do I need to have?
According to the participation agreement, the participant must provide IEC with a valid international passport no later than 1 (one) month before the earliest possible program start date. The participant must also hold a passport that is valid for international travel at least two months before that earliest start date.
