“The Working Holiday in Germany program offers a great chance to combine fun and work — you can relax and earn money. Thanks to this program, I got to know German culture up close, traveled around Europe, made new German friends, and immersed myself in the German language and way of life, which noticeably improved my language skills. After gaining invaluable life experience and unforgettable memories, I recommend Working Holiday in Germany to all students who want to have an amazing time in Europe!”

In the summer of 2019 I went to Germany on the Working Holidays in Germany program and never regretted it! After I received my job offer back in November 2018, I knew I’d be working at the Holiday Park amusement park. After chatting with my employers over Skype, I already knew I’d be surrounded by really nice people and that I’d be working in a wonderful place. All my expectations came true when I arrived at the park: we lived in a two-story cottage that at the time was shared by 12 people — nine of whom were from Serbia and Bosnia and spoke the same language. We had a shower (more than one), a great kitchen, a living room, a terrace, a bar, and even a pool with fish. Next to us were two similar, slightly smaller houses where people from Portugal, France, and the Netherlands lived. We all worked together in the amusement park. I plunged into an international experience I hadn’t even dreamed of — it was incredibly cool!

My wonderful “Working Holiday in Germany” flew by unexpectedly fast. That means it’s time to write a detailed review to help people planning to follow the same path. It all started with huge stress: as April approached I learned that my friends and I would have to split up. That decision was due to the results of the first interview with an employer from Pomerania. I was definitely not thrilled at the idea of going alone to the small town of Bottrop, which I’d never heard of — I had originally wanted to get to the picturesque island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea. But I decided not to give up, and now I’m so happy I made the right choice. Germans are amazing people. They’re always ready to help a stranger, point you in the right direction, and even walk you to the train, all while telling you practically everything about themselves… The end of the trip brought two pleasant surprises — a symbolic ‘Oscar’ from my colleagues and a big paycheck. I’m very happy!
