What level of English do I need to join the program?
To participate in the program, your English level must be at least Upper Intermediate. You should be able to converse fluently in English on almost any topic.
Do I need to provide a certificate proving my language proficiency?
Yes, IELTS or TOEFL.
Which fields offer internships?
Internships are available in more than 15 fields, including:
marketing, business, graphic design, HR, engineering, IT, architecture, sports, journalism, veterinary medicine, logistics, fashion, and more.
Is the internship paid?
No, the internship is unpaid, but you’ll gain real international experience, access to mentorship, involvement in real projects, and valuable recommendations from Australian professionals.
Can I participate if I graduated from university more than 12 years ago?
Unfortunately, this program is only open to recent graduates — those who graduated no more than 12 months ago.
Do I need to have an interview with the employer?
Yes. After reviewing your profile, the employer may invite you to an interview. That’s a normal part of the selection process.
Is there a list of open positions?
Yes, it is. In fact, after receiving your resume and profile, the program sponsor forwards them directly to potential employers that match your skills and interests.
Can I do an internship alongside another job?
No. The 407 visa used for participation is tied to a specific internship and employer and doesn’t allow you to work under other contracts.
Do I need medical insurance?
Yes. This is a mandatory requirement for getting the visa and taking part in the program. Your sponsor arranges the insurance.
Where is the internship located?
You can complete an internship in major Australian cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and more. Placement depends on available positions and your field of study.
Will someone meet me at the airport?
You’ll be met at the airport for an additional fee.
Will I have time to travel?
Yes. Participants get 4 weeks to travel around Australia.
Can I join the program if I don’t have any work experience?
Yes.
When should I apply?
The Professional Internship program runs year-round, but you should submit your documents 3 to 4 months before your desired start date.
How many hours per week will the internship involve?
Participants work at least 30 hours per week.
Where will I live while I’m working?
Your sponsor helps you find housing. You can live with a host family or in a student residence.
