Internship in Mexico: Answers to questions

To join the program, your English level must be at least Intermediate. You should be able to communicate comfortably and understand English throughout the internship.

Mexico is a Spanish-speaking country — if your Spanish is Intermediate or higher, that’s a huge advantage.

It’s simple! The interview is an informal chat with the program sponsor over Skype. During it, the sponsor assesses your language level, past experience, and your motivation for taking part in the internship. Being able to answer convincingly — where you study, what you’re studying or have studied, and why you want to join the program — is the first step toward successful enrollment.

After signing the agreement with IEC, the registration fee of $300 is due within 7 calendar days. The second part of the program fee is due within 14 calendar days after the sponsor secures an internship placement and the participant confirms the job offer.

Minimum program length: 3 months; maximum: up to 6 months.

Yes, housing is usually provided by the employer in shared apartments with other participants. It depends on the internship location and the employer.

This option may be available, but it isn’t guaranteed by the sponsor. When you apply, you’ll need to provide the full name of the friend you’d like to travel with.

Buy your tickets only after you’ve received electronic entry authorization and after confirming your travel dates with your program sponsor.

All documents will be issued in the name of a specific employer; that employer cannot be changed. If you have any disagreements with the employer, exchange program participants must contact the sponsor. An appropriate decision will be made depending on the reason for the disagreement.
