My host family and I were just in Russia this August (Moscow — Saint Petersburg — Nizhny Novgorod). We grew so close that they wanted to meet my family and come visit! I’m so happy we found each other — we’re completely on the same page and have a very warm relationship!
Tips for participants:
It’s really important to prepare well for your interview with the family — review the questions they might ask you and, in turn, plan the questions you’ll ask them. It’s crucial to discuss everything in detail so there are no surprises later and you can find a family that’s right for you.
One more very important point — if any problems, questions, or requests come up during the program, don’t be shy about discussing them with the family! Not doing so won’t help you build a connection or get closer…
